Thirteen University of Memphis IDT Faculty and Graduate Students Present at Annual AECT Convention in Louisville, Kentucky

University of Memphis faculty and graduate students presented at the 2012 Annual Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT) Convention held in Louisville, Kentucky, Oct. 30 to Nov. 3. The topics ranged from teaching in a K-12 setting to using social media in a corporate setting. Several presented research from the Continuous Learning Research Coalition (CLRC) ( grant, a joint collaboration between University of Memphis Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) program and members of the Center for Continuous Learning at FedEx Express.

Faculty presenters were Dr. Michael Grant, Dr. Trey Martindale, and Dr. Carmen Weaver. Graduate student presenters were Laura Alderson, Dorian Brown, Angela Christopher, Danita Gibson, Dorothy Hale, Smita Jain, Kris King, Mary Anne McCraw, Joe Sweeney, and Julie Zammit.

The University Reception held Friday night was exceptionally fun and provided a great opportunity to network with experts in the instructional design field. The University of Memphis exhibit table was particularly remarkable as fans from around the world were able to have their photo taken with Elvis, a regular standup guy.
