Job Summary/Essential Job Functions: The Educational Specialist will collaborate with residents and faculty in an effort to facilitate the development and implementation of educational programs both on-line and live. This position must design, develop, manage curriculum, and monitor compliance with accreditation standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop educational content and products in the form of workshops, symposiums, conferences, on-line e-learning, webinars, manuals/monographs, blended learning, and other emerging adult learning methods.

Coordinate efforts to bring the COM (both UME and GME) into compliance with accreditation standards related to education goals, outcome, document compliance and evaluation as monitored by LCME and ACGME.

Collaborates with Assistant Director to manage the operations of the Office of Faculty and Resident Development (OFRD) to include data management, marketing, accreditation compliance, and the development of educational training activities.

Manage the social/media presence and engagement. Plan content updates, generate story ideas, and write and edit for the dissemination of survey results and other data.

Working under the direction of the supervisor, this position will create and manage databases, develop and analyze reports, and make recommendations in support of educational content of the OFRD.

Develop continuing medical education applications, documentation, and assessment for all CME activities in accordance with American Council for Continuing Medical Education standards.

Develop and maintain resident and faculty databases and surveys to identify how resident and faculty use different services in preparation of departmental, institutional and accreditation reporting.

Provide ideas and develop methods to communicate the Office of Faculty and Resident Development OFRD services that are underutilized by residents and faculty.

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree; three (3) years with technological software and hardware platforms that support management and educational delivery preferably in a higher education setting; OR Master’s Degree (preferably in education, medical education, educational technology, curricular instruction, adult education, or related areas). and one (1) year of related work experience, preferably in a higher education setting. Knowledge of distribution modes supporting content delivery, web accessible and mobile applications, and LMS; documented success in new program development, implementation and evaluation.; experience with Windows and Mac Platforms; high degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, web-based applications); Ability to work independently and effectively to provide team support and content project management. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work with faculty, staff, and students in a courteous and helpful manner. Strong oral and written communications skills. Qualifications
