Dr Carol Danehower and I are the College Relations Co-Chairs for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and we would like to invite your students to participate in this organization, both at the professional and student chapter levels.
The SHRM offers a number of interesting HR opportunities for students—in particular for your students, the October meeting is focused on Organizational Internal Coaching. The students can read more at www.shrm-memphis.org, under events. The meeting will be a breakfast meeting and will be at the Holiday Inn, reservations are required but there is a student rate of $10.00 per student. As graduate students entering the Organizational Learning and Development field, this is a great way to network. Interested students can contact Dr Danehower or me with questions…..
On our campus, we are also the Student Chapter SHRM sponsors. (We like SHRM!) Our first kick-off meeting is on Wednesday, Sept 14. Members of our SHRM Board will be there to discuss their careers in HRM and this will be a great opportunity to explore this on a student level as well. We have leadership opportunities available for students interested in building their resumes for future career opportunities. The flier for that Kick-off Event on Wednesday, Sept 14 at 4:30 is attached. We will be meeting in the Holiday Inn, Kemmons Wilson School, Rm WS129.
