LIBRARIAN/DIGITAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in library and information studies from a program accredited by the American Library Association. Skilled in a variety of instructional technologies, including subscription databases and Open Educational Resources. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative work style.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• foster a creative, flexible environment so that the school library is an essential part of the learning community
• establish procedures for selection, acquisition, circulation, and sharing of resources in all formats
• develop and maintain resources appropriate to the curriculum, the learners, and instructional strategies of the school community • assist teachers in the development of textbook-independent curriculum • empower students to become enthusiastic readers and skillful researchers
• promote the ethical use of information: copyright, fair use, and licensing of intellectual property • serve on school decision-making teams
