Dissertation Defense Announcement Form

IDT Students,

please see the notice below regarding a form for dissertation defense announcements.

Dear CoE Faculty:

If you are chairing masters/doctoral committees and your students are getting ready to defend their theses or dissertations, please note that the Graduate School has a new requirement for a Thesis/Dissertation Defense Announcement that must be submitted three weeks prior to the defense date. The link to the form can be found on the Graduate School Forms page under Thesis/Dissertation Forms and Samples (http://www.memphis.edu/gradschool/resources/forms_index.php). The announcements go up on the Graduate School Blog (http://www.memphis.edu/gradschool/events/tdannouncements.php). Unlike the College of Education announcement process, there is no review of accuracy for what the student submits before it is published so please review your students’ information before they submit it. On the CoE Blog, Stormey was able to correct errors, however, I do not know that errors will be easy to correct on the Graduate School page so it is very important for the major professor to review the information with the student.

This is a separate announcement from the dissertation defense form that we have been using in the College of Education (that Stormey uses for the CoE Blog). Since the Graduate School is now doing this, we will drop the College of Education requirement for the dissertation announcement using our format. Your students need to do only the Graduate School form from now on.

Thanks.
