Subject: Position Announcement Auburn University – Coordinator of Pharmacy Curriculum Development

Attached, please find a position announcement for a Coordinator of Pharmacy Curriculum Development here at the Auburn University, Harrison School of Pharmacy.

I hope you will disseminate the announcement to your students, alumni, colleagues, and others who may be interested. Despite the rather odd job title, the job is for an Instructional Designer – someone who can help us as we move through an upcoming large scale curriculum revision. While some knowledge of chemistry and biology would be nice, it is not required.

As you may know, Pharmacy Education is entering an exciting period where many schools are moving to innovative new models of education that emphasize active learning, team based learning, problem solving, and interprofessional “real world” applications of integrated content. The person who is hired for this job will be involved from Day 1 in some pretty interesting activities and will have the chance to play a key role in the curriculum revision process. So, I think it is an exciting and challenging job that would be perfect for the right person.

I should note the only downside of the job is that is a 3 year fixed term. It is not a permanent position, although there is a chance it could be extended for 1 or 2 additional years.

If anyone has questions, please ask them to contact me.

Thank you very much for your assistance in distributing this announcement!
