OD Internship at Thomas and Betts

Title: HR/OD Intern Location: Corporate Office-Memphis

Reports to: Diane Brown-VP of Organizational Development

Job Summary:
The OD Intern provides quality HR/OD support on a part-time basis to the VP of Organizational development, Sr. Manager of Organizational development and their client base. Interns are responsible for maintaining satisfied clients by delivering assistance and administrative support on various projects.

Major Responsibilities/Activities
Support Thomas & Bett’s Talent Management Technology (Connect Me)
Testing out functionality for employee use
Making various updates needed for the “Refresh” of training materials for new technology launch in December
Supporting the Change Management plan, which includes communications and training implementation
Support Thomas & Bett’s eLearning Platform Hosted by Skillsoft
Managing the approval process for employees who register
Being the primary contact for employee questions utilizing Skillsoft representative
Identifying various target audiences to increase usage
Coordinating Lunch and Learn programs( e.g. generating & implementing ideas, communications, facilitation and logistics)
Support Leadership Programs (FME and AMP UP)
Supporting the implementation of project plans and key project tasks
Assisting with logistics (catering, room booking and setup, spreadsheets etc)
Updating materials
Support OD Communications
Creating various emails needed
Creating articles that are being requested
Generate client surveys using technology.
Basic Qualifications
Education:
Upper classperson pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education, human resources, sociology, psychology or a related field. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
Adult education principles, training methods, and techniques.
The principles of project management and event coordination.
Facilitation skills for training sessions.
Talent Management processes and technology
Ability to:
Plan, organize, and coordinate the execution of learning and development programs.
Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally
Communicate with employees and business partners in one-on-one, group, phone and email settings.
Utilize the Microsoft Office suite
Operate a variety of office equipment such as a keyboard device, computer, FAX machine, and copy machine.
