Instructional Designer Position at MSU

Position:  Instructional Designer
Departments:  Center for Teaching and Learning, Mississippi State University

Mississippi State University seeks an instructional designer to facilitate course development through its Center for Teaching and Learning. This position will assist in course redesign and course development for both distance and campus instructional offerings. It is expected that this person will apply instructional design principles to facilitate active and quality instruction. We are looking for someone who has expertise in emergent technology, active learning, and collaborative tools. This individual would also assist in needs assessments, formative and summative assessments, test design, and in training.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Instructional Design from an accredited institution, and 2 -3 years of experience in development of online instruction. Additionally, the successful candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience with learning management systems, particularly Vista/ Blackboard® products, would be desirable, as would previous teaching experience.
